The Treatment
The treatment provides both firm and stimulating and gentle and relaxing massage techniques to help relieve tension but also stimulate blood flow.
The massage starts on the upper back and shoulders followed by the arms and the neck, working towards a scalp massage incorporating acupressure points and movements to release tension and improve scalp condition. I finish with a gentle massage and lymphatic draining of the face and around the forehead and eyes. I finish with some chakra balancing and soothing.
You can choose to sit on an ordinary chair or a special seated massage chair. You can remain fully clothed or I can use oils for a deeper massage in areas of tension. If preferred you can move to lay own on the massage couch for the facial part of the massage.

Indian Head Massage has been practised in India for over 1,000 years originating from an Indian alternative medicine system called Ayurveda (which means the ‘science of life’) with the belief that mind and body are intricately connected.
It was an important family ritual for well-being and the maintenance of healthy hair and gained popularity in the West due to its wonderful relaxation and stress relieving properties.
The treatment works on the upper body which can carry a lot of tension, helping to rebalance, release stagnant energy and muscle tension leaving you more ‘clear headed’. The treatment induces a peaceful sense of calm and tranquility to mind and body. It increases blood and lymphatic flow which helps nourish cells and rid the body of accumulated toxins and also releases endorphins which helps reduce stress and anxiety.
